Estoy tan cansada
de la gente que nos llama soñadores
por todo lo que hicimos bien.
Tenemos tantos problemas: las emisiones,
y la tala,
o ambas cosas,
o comer las partes de animales que no necesitamos,
mientras se llenan los periódicos con las caras no tapadas

El río está hecho de deshechos,
el desierto ya no es el Sáhara:
está en nuestras venas.
Hay una brisa en nuestra garganta
que desaparece lento.
Y la ciencia ya no puede más con nuestro desastre.
Un día soñar con lo que está bien va a ser tan humillante
que ya no nos van a llamar soñadores,
van a buscar nuevas formas de torturarnos.
Cerrar nuestros ojos va a ser tan ilegal,
que no vamos a poder ir a ningún lugar,
ni siquiera con los ojos cerrados.
Nos vamos a ver como una especie de Cristo,
separándose de la astillada cruz:
seremos su premio.
Y nuestros sueños nos van a atravesar las manos
como clavos de oro,
pero la sangre no va a caer esta vez desde esa corona de espinas.
Algo más va a caer.
Algo invisible se derramará.
Pero quién quedará en pie
para sentirlo…

Gaby Sambuccetti (Argentina) is an Argentine born, UK-based writer. She is the author of 2 books in Spanish published in Argentina, Glasses Love to be Broken (Argentina, Baobab, 2010), To the Knot for What it Took Away (Argentina, De los Cuatro Vientos, 2012). Also, she published a book in the UK called The Good, the Bad & the Poet (El Ojo de la Cultura, London, 2020). Her books, reviews, collaborations appear in different magazines, anthologies and literary projects from Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Germany, Bolivia, the US, Mexico, Chile, Spain, Bangladesh, India & the UK.
